Friday, March 29th, 2013After a somewhat last minute decision we decided to host Easter Dinner at our house. Not only that, but my mother-in-law loaded up her two dogs and drove into town from New Jersey. It’s like animal house around here right now with 2 labs and a mutt (that our friend Paige hilariously referred to as “the tiger looking dog”…haha). Thankfully all 3 dogs are behaving themselves! We decided to take advantage of today’s gorgeous weather, which we haven’t been getting much of lately, and after lunch we loaded the hounds into the truck and headed to a private little beach here on the island. The puppies had a blast, and after a rinsing all 3 are quietly passed out in various places around my living room.
My mother-in-law may actually kill me for this, but I couldn’t resist. 
Poor Molly girl….thinks she’s in time out because she had to sit for a photo!
This could be the miracle of the season….not a single headswap in the bunch and all 3 dogs looking!!!
Adiós OBX…Hello Vail! l Outer Banks Wedding & Portrait Photograher
Thursday, February 28th, 2013It’s only been 6 months but Rob and I are finally heading on our honeymoon! We leave bright and early tomorrow morning for 12 days in Vail. Needless to say he’s so excited he can’t stop looking at the weather forecast Meanwhile….I keep trying to figure out how I’m not going to freeze!!!
We’ll be out of the office tomorrow starting tomorrow, until March 12th!
Ever tried to pack 12 days worth of winter clothing and ski outfits???? I need a vacation just from the packing!!

So what’s different about this year? We’re moving forward with our desire to go totally digital, with the exception of our wall art! So what does that mean for you? We’ve revamped our session offerings, and now every session includes the digital files. Images from your session are accessed via your personal and private online gallery, where you will be able to download your digital files directly to your computer. Now each family member can log into the gallery and download their own copy of the images from your session!
Don’t worry, you still have the option to purchase prints through your gallery. We specialize in Wall Art (Prints & Canvases), specifically prints 11×14 and larger. Wall Prints are carefully mounted and receive a linen texture finish and protective lacquer coating for durability and longevity. Gallery Wrapped Canvases are printed on a high end canvas and wrapped around a wooden stretcher with the hanging hardware already attached!

Wednesday, December 26th, 2012I love these two! Not only are Rainnie & Dave part of our awesome family, they were also in our wedding! They came back into town to pick up their new puppy, Lucy, and we were able to squeeze in a quick few minutes to get their Christmas Card photos for this year. I’m pretty sure Lucy steals the show, and is almost too much cuteness for one post! I’ve kept these a secret far too long, but now that the cards have been mailed and gifts open, they’re finally hitting the blog!
This shot was taken in my front yard (before I tried to steal their new dog!) and not even 2 days later, all those leaves on my beautiful tree were gone! Tis’ the season..hehe!

Friday, December 14th, 2012You might recognize mom as, Kristi, the face behind Kristi Midgette Photography. Like most photographers, we’re always the LAST ones to have our own family portraits taken. We’re often so busy assisting our clients, that we’re scrambling at the last minute to put out our own Christmas card. Kristi’s family is awesome and the littlest member, Sterling, is one of the funniest kids I know. Unlike most photographer’s kids who run away when the camera comes out, Sterling is a total ham and it’s like photographing America’s Next Top model. With every click of the camera, she likes to change up her pose. We met at one of my favorite spots in Nags Head for their Christmas pictures, and despite the cold and wind they rocked it out!

Friday, December 14th, 2012The hardest thing about taking holiday portraits, is having to SAVE them for the holidays! Aside from being a great friend, Alex is probably one of the sweetest and most thoughtful people I know. We got together with her, Rob, and their sweet puppy Haynes for a Christmas card photo. Rob’s a boat captain, like my Rob, and so it was only fitting that we head down to the marina and use the boat for some of their photos. They have probably the most well behaved dog I’ve ever worked with. Haynes will sit forever until you tell him he’s allowed to move….mine would have been in the water.

Friday, December 14th, 2012I’ve known Kathryn practically my whole life and was so excited to shoot Mary Kathryn’s newborn photos. The best way to describe Kathryn, is classic. She’s a sweater-set and pearls kind of girl, and I knew we’d want to keep MK’s session timeless . Keeping it simple and incorporating a few elements was key, but we did manage to sneak in a little fun…courtesy of Kathryn’s mom who found the adorable hat! She slept for me essentially the whole time, and is such a sweet baby.

Wednesday, December 5th, 2012This session has been a long time coming, and one we’ve talked about doing – it’s just a matter of doing it! We’re a horse family, and so it’s not surprise that when it was time to take updated photos of my sister we’d head to barn and do them with “Trouble”. Troubs was so well behaved for our shoot, and was actually quite the camera hog, which is unusual…normally I can’t ever get his attention! Mabel was gorgeous as always, and I just can’t believe what a beautiful young lady she’s growing up to be.

Wednesday, September 5th, 2012Cady and her family met me EARLY one morning at Coquina beach for Cady’s Outer Banks senior portraits. If you ventured to the OBX this summer, you know we’ve been battling some rain! Poor Cady…we weren’t even 5 shots into her session when it started to sprinkle. We headed up to the bath-house to wait it out, and luckily for us it passed over and we were able to venture out. Cady was so sweet, and her family was just as awesome.
