Shaun & Nicole {Engaged : Part 2} | Outer Banks Wedding Photographer

Friday, March 29th, 2013

Shaun & Nicole are dear friends and I was so glad to be shooting not only their engagements but also their Outer Banks Wedding. Even more special was that my husband was the best man! We ventured out early in the year for some engagement photos to get a save-the-date designed, but it was FREEZING. We managed to get what we needed, but decided to head back out in warmer weather for their Outer Banks Engagement Session. Shaun is a good sport, like most guys having your picture taken isn’t exactly the top of the fun list, but he was a trooper and just rolled with it!

The Sanderling Inn & Spa Wedding Photographer {Outer Banks Wedding Photographer}

Monday, February 18th, 2013

Over the summer I got a call from Mike Reed with Mike Reed Photo. Mike was coming into town for a wedding and needed a second photographer. I happened to have the date free, and even though I was relishing the idea of having a free Saturday open (which doesn’t happen often!) I absolutely love working with other photographers, so I signed on to shoot with him at the Sanderling Inn & Spa in Duck. When I got to the Sanderling for Julie & Angelo’s wedding I knew it would be beautiful – Kim & Wes with Holiday House did a fabulous job on the decor and the sun was shining. What more could you ask for?

Julie & Angelo did things a little differently, and opted for both a Native American ceremony and a traditional American Ceremony. Both ceremonies took place on the back deck at the Sanderling, with the reception to follow in the beautiful brand new pavilion. Everything was fabulous while Julie, Angelo, and their family & friends danced the night away!

Melissa + Chris {Married} l Outer Banks Wedding Photographer

Sunday, November 25th, 2012

Melissa & Chris are an adorable couple, so sweet, and you can tell just by watching them that they truly love each other’s company. Melissa shared with me that their first romantic getaway was to the White Doe Inn in Manteo, so when they decided to get married they thought they would come full circle by having their wedding there. They had a beautiful oceanfront ceremony, followed by more photos around the Inn – which makes for the most beautiful backdrop! Chris, and especially Melissa, are total troopers as the weather was very cold and windy. They hung in there, and I am so glad I was able to be a part of their special day!

Amy & Brian l Engagement Day After Session – Outer Banks Wedding Photographer

Wednesday, October 10th, 2012

Amy & Brian – I just can’t say enough about these two! Amy contacted me a while ago to inquire about Outer Banks Wedding Photography and from the moment I read the answers on her info form I knew we’d be friends. I mean, who doesn’t love beer can chicken?  We both have a love of animals, especially our dogs, and for the duration of planning frequently text each other with funny pet pictures. As their wedding day quickly approached I was looking forward to meeting them in person! Their wedding was wonderful, and their family and friends welcomed me with open arms – definitely something that makes a wedding so much more fun for me. Amy & Brian opted for a more casual approach for their “Day After Session” and instead of wearing their wedding attire they went for everyday clothes, and wanted to include their dogs. We went with more of an engagment session approach and headed up to the 4×4 area of Carova Beach.

These two are just SO much fun to be around! They are so full of life and happiness, it’s really contagious! There are many people you feel like you instantly connect with, but Amy is one of those girls! We finished up our session, loaded the dogs up, and off we went! The best part of the day, driving off the beach in the bed of the truck (like a true Carolina girl!) with Amy watching the sun set! I definitely can’t wait until they come back down. Amy, I think the OBX needs another resident like you! ;)

Elizabeth & Matt {Married} l Outer Banks Wedding Photographer

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

Elizabeth and Matt lucked out with beautiful weather for their morning beach wedding. Taking place only a little bit after Hurricane Irene blew through the Outer Banks, we were very lucky that their reception location didn’t sustain any major damage. I met up with Elizabeth at her rental cottage for a few getting ready and detail shots before heading over to Coquina Beach for the ceremony. Family and friends gathered around, everyone helping to make the rows of sand castles ready for Elizabeth’s walk down the isle. We followed up their ceremony with a brunch reception at Pamlico Jack’s Restaurant in Nags Head. Later that afternoon we met up again for a “Day After” session, mixing up some photos at the putt-putt course and back at the beach.

Lindsey & Eric {Married} l Outer Banks Wedding Photography

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011

Ceremony Location: Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church

Reception Location: Beach Realty Rental Home – Thunderbird

Cupcakes: Carolina Cupcakery

Catering: High Cotton BBQ

Entertainment: Coastal Beach DJ’s

Cake Topper: Etsy Seller- Mud Cards

Lindsey & Eric finally got married, and I still can’t believe it! I’ve known Eric since we were kids, and Lindsey since high school – they’ve been together pretty much as long as Rob and I. When they got engaged a couple of years ago I was thrilled for them, and even more shocked when they finally got around to getting a date! Lindsey was probably one the THE most relaxed brides I’ve worked with. We decided to do all photos – including a first look – before the ceremony. When I showed up most of the hair/makeup had been done and everyone was just hanging out relaxing. It was wonderful, low-stress, and overall just great to chat and catch up with everyone. One thing that I absolutely love is the attention to detail Lindsey put into the little things. Everything from her personalized hanger for the dress to her AWESOME custom cake topper – the little elements were everywhere. I love the way they bucked tradition. We photographed everyone ahead of time, and even rode all together in the limo to/from the ceremony. They even had their super adorable doggie, Dolce, in the wedding party AT the church!

Congratulations to Eric & Lindsey, I’m so happy for you guys!

John & Ti-Ying {Day After Session} l Outer Banks Wedding Photographer l OBX Wedding Photography

Monday, March 21st, 2011

John & Ti-Ying joined me a couple days after their wedding for a “Day After” session. These sessions are growing in popularity, because it allows the couples to get dressed back up and have wedding photos taking in an alternate location. It also allows them to spend less time after the ceremony, and without the stress of having to rush to the reception. To mix things up a bit from their Duck beach wedding, we chose the Whalehead Club in Corolla for their day after session. They were troopers, despite the wind and colder temps that crept up on us. The grounds were fairly empty, and left us with a lot of space to work with. I had a great time photographing both you guys, CONGRATS!!!
