2012 Outer Banks Wedding Expo l OBX Wedding Photographer l David Tutera “My Fair Wedding”

Friday, January 27th, 2012

The 2012 Outer Banks Wedding Association Wedding Expo has come and gone, and what a weekend it was! I had such a great time catching up with all the vendors and meeting a whole new batch of amazing brides and grooms!

The wedding weekend is always crazy! I started the expo weekend with the wedding tour on Saturday, and I was thrilled to be set up at the fabulous Pavilion at Pirate’s Cove – which also happens to be MY wedding venue as well!  I had a great day hanging with Heather from Pirate’s Cove as we chatted about our upcoming weddings, and met with a lot of really great engaged couples! Quickly rushed over to the high school to set up my booth, and I must give a HUGE thanks to my family and friends. Every year they really take one for the team to help me prepare.

Saturday night I ventured to welcome reception with my second shooter, Renee, to check out the super fabulous David Tutera from WE tv’s My Fair Wedding! After hearing him talk, and a Q&A session with the audience he was gracious enough to stick around for photos.  I’m normally a level headed person, but I was actually giddy to meet David! Can you say goober?

My super awesome second shooter, Renee, jumped in:

Sunday’s Expo is always an exciting day. The crowds, the food, the cake…..what more can you ask for? I always get there bright and early to put the finishing touches on my booth and visit with everyone! We were thrilled when David Tutera stopped by and I was able to get another photo with him IN my booth. He is the nicest guy, sticking around for a few minutes to chat with us on how he feels about the “First Look”.

John & Ti-Ying {Married} l Outer Banks Wedding Photographer l OBX Wedding Photography

Monday, March 21st, 2011

John & Ti-Ying were such a great couple to work with. They got married in a Twiddy Event Home in Pine Island, having a beautiful beachfront ceremony with the reception inside the great room. Black Pelican Catering in Kitty Hawk did an awesome job with the food, and were so thoughtful even bringing out a tray of appetizers out to the beach during pictures for the bridal party.   Leslie Erickson with Club Violin did a wonderful job with ceremony music for the wedding. This was by far one of my favorite 2010 weddings, as there was so much love from their family and friends. I love weddings that are a bit more intimate, and this one did not disappoint. Ti-Ying made a STUNNING bride and they were both a joy to work with. The whole family was so welcoming, and Ti-Ying’s sisters gave a speech that even made me tear up!

2011 Outer Banks Wedding Expo

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

The expo has come and gone – and what a year it was!!! I had the priveldge of not only setting up a booth at the expo but also participating in the wedding tour.

My Saturday started out at Gertrude’s Breakaway, a Corolla event home managed by the great folks at Beach Realty. I want to give a big THANK YOU to the Beach Realty crew for inviting me to participate in this years wedding tour, and also to the lovely ladies that kept me company all day:

I also want to give a shout out to Wes, and the rest of the staff at Red Sky Cafe. They had an awesome set up of their famous Shrimp & Grits – oh.my.gosh – it was GOOD. I’m a traitor to southern girls everywhere, as I’ve never been a huge fan of grits. Let me just say, it’s a wonder I didn’t turn into a bowl of grits by the end of the day. They were simply delicious!!!!

Melinda Gregory, with Just Desserts, had a beautiful (and yummy!) display of samples for the brides and their entourage to try out.

We had beautiful flower arrangements scattered throughout the home, courtesy of The Embellishers. They really outdid themselves, and the flowers were beautiful!

Wedding Expo Day was a blast, and exhausting all rolled into one.

I want to give a HUGE thank you to my family and friends. Without you all, none of this would have been possible. My wonderful dad, and another friend, built my entire booth. It was a labor of love, and well worth it because I was thrilled with the way it turned out. They did a fabulous job!!!

I also want to give big hugs to my friends, Winnie & Rebecca, for hanging in there all.day.long helping to greet brides, hand out information, and answer questions. It’s a long day, and I’m so glad you guys were there to share it with me.

To all of the wonderful brides, grooms, family members, and friends – THANK YOU for stopping by. It was wonderful meeting you all, and I can’t wait to work with you! :)
